Apple Shrinks IPhone Return Window

Unhappy with your new iPhone purchase? Think fast, because you have only 14 days to return it.
Cupertino has amended its U.S. policy, dropping its 30-day return window to two weeks.
According to the Standard Return Policy, customers have 14 calendar days (that includes weekends) from the date of in-store purchase or online delivery to return the smartphone.
Apple will not, however, accept phones that were acquired through third-party retailers, or devices that have been damaged. So don't think you can get away with handing off the iPhone you just dropped and cracked while excitedly pulling it out of the box.
All returns must be repackaged with original cords, adapters, and documentation.
Other Apple products, including iPads, laptops, and desktops, are already subject to the 14-day return policy.
As 9 to5 Mac pointed out, Cupertino's previous protocol was "in stark contrast" to other carriers, which follow a strict two-week return program. Until today, iPhone buyers had up to 30 days to test out the phone before deciding to swap it for a different model, color, or storage capacity—or another platform. However, if they returned it during week three or four, buyers risked having to pay carrier early termination fees, so it wasn't much of a deal.
Apple did not immediately respond to PC Mag's request for comment. But as the tech blog said, this is likely the company's way of creating a uniform policy for all products.
If you really want to get the most out of Cupertino's shopping experience, maybe you should look into joining the exclusive Apple Loyalty program, which offers discounts to those consumers who cross the $5,000-per-year purchasing threshold.
